Bayer MaterialScience: Announcement of the new Senior Country Representative and President

Tokyo, April 23, 2012 - Bayer MaterialScience Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) announces that Mr. Kimiyasu Yonemaru will be appointed as Senior Country Representative for Bayer MaterialScience in Japan and President of Bayer MaterialScience Ltd., succeeding Mr. Haruo Kuno who will assume responsibility as an Advisor effective May 1st, 2012.
Mr. Yonemaru will take over the position in addition to his current role as President of Sumika Bayer Urethane Co., Ltd.

Kimiyasu Yonemaru

Mr. Kimiyasu Yonemaru was born in Kagoshima Prefecture on March 1st, 1958. After graduating from Ritsumeikan University, Mr. Yonemaru joined Sumitomo Bayer Urethane Co, Ltd. (now Sumika Bayer Urethane Co., Ltd.) in 1984, starting his career with the Sales Division. In 1993, he was assigned to Bayer Corporation in Pittsburgh, USA, responsible for Marketing of the Japanese automotive industry. After returning to Japan, he was appointed in 2003 as Head of the Marketing Unit Specialties for Japan and Korea of the Polyurethane Business Unit. In 2006, he was promoted to Regional Marketing Director, Polyurethanes, APAC based in Hong Kong.  Mr. Yonemaru became President of Sumika Bayer Urethane Ltd. in September 2007.
